I'll overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly happening.
